VINTAGE (possibly antique ?) 1854 REED & BARTON SILVER Plate Etched SILVERPLATE Ice Water PITCHER JUG. Measures around 13 inches from bottom base to tip of cover's handle, and the base measures 7-3/8 inches by 6-3/8 inches across. In good condition, this is old, preowned and has signs of wear and visible dents in both sides, tarnish and surface dents, SOLD AS IS, since its part of its characteristics being old, imperfections mentioned may not be clearly visible in photos, still functional considering its age. It has some etched / carved details and a 3D head of a woman at the water/liquid spout. There are several markings: at the inner side its marked Reed & Barton, Seamless Lining, Patended Nov 5 1867, at the bottom also marked Patented Stimpson, 1854, No 2511, Mf'd Plated by Reed & Barton, Extended For Seven Years. This is for 3 pieces set. The first piece is the tallest that measures 12 inches from bottom of base to tip of cover's handle, there is a lid but it needs to be re-attached/welded since the connection is gone. The second piece with dual handles has no cover or lid, sold as is. The third piece is the smallest measures 7-1/2 inches from bottom of base to tip of the handle. At the bottom REED & BARTON either L795 or 1795 (hard to tell). Nice decorative carved base or legs, the body appears to me pumpkin design, there is an italic marking initial M J in each of the piece. Great decorative piece for display cabinet or mantle.
